Got this for my old but working 2007 iMac. Worked well as a replacement for my DVD drive and had no problems formatting and using my new 500GB SSD. Unfortunately my old Mac died after 4 months. Not the fault of the product. Mac was just old. Tried on my Mac mini 2009. Different wired interface so I couldn't use it. Again not the fault of the product. I am happy with my purchase

Caddy/adapter works well, device recognizes without problems. My guess is that the device has been used before and someone inserted it incorrectly into the laptop.

I bought this to install a second hard drive in my 2007 a1226 2.4GHz MacBook Pro. It worked perfectly. The included Phillips screwdriver was great too. Luckily I already had a Torx T6 screwdriver to tighten the remaining screws. There were two extra screws in the kit that I didn't know what to do with. I was more than happy with this product given its price compared to other hard drive enclosures for these older MacBook Pro models.
