Mega Kids String Craft Activity Set Review

I ordered this as a craft idea for my daughter's birthday. Very cute and easy to use. The thickness of the foam is about 1/4 inch. I think it was perfect.

The art is beautiful, but the pens are plastic. They are small and very difficult to insert into the board. This resulted in uneven pins, broken and bent pins. It is better if the pins are metal with a paint coating.

I got this for my granddaughter. We did it last night. It's a little harder than you think. some will tie all the knots. And the picture itself is pretty.

And we only did one! We have three more ahead of us! 8 hours of worries! I stayed alone long enough to do the dishes and get some peace and quiet! It's worth it. -0.25 stars for the gold glitter in the sequin pouch. Open very slowly. But I'm taking it for parental leave.

My daughter really enjoyed making art with this set. However, she had trouble getting the plastic pins into the styrofoam. I ended up having to pre-punch holes for her, and then she was ready to go. With this kit you can create 4 string art paintings. Also included are stickers, gold glitter, round rhinestones and some plastic flowers to decorate the finished paintings.

6 year old niece loved projects but had to help a lot. There are no instructions. The plastic pins are almost impossible to insert into the foam (we used push pins to make the initial hole) and the template cannot be easily removed once the pins are in place. The biggest problem? Not enough pins for all four projects! Disappointing. There's a ton of rope, so we'll use our own pins. Wouldn't buy again.

It had so much potential! Bought for my daughters to hang out with some friends one night and it was sooooo hard to insert these pins. I ended up doing most of it for her. My fingers still hurt after doing this a few days ago. I bought this set thinking it would be more kid friendly than plank and tacks, but next time we do string art we will definitely be using planks and tacks. Don't waste your time on this and just learn how to make a real one. Your fingers (and kids) will thank you!

I was really hoping for it. We took him on a date with two 9 year old girls. Ideal age for crafts. It was *very hard* for them to push in the pins. As soon as we (moms) pressed all the footpegs, they started touching each other, which eventually made the design unsuitable for the footplate cover. Trying to remove the stencil sheet was another nightmare. The designs are adorable. And the stuff seemed ok. But the pens were BAD NEWS.
