Stay Slim and Secure this Summer with the Digital Audio Monitor Review

I wanted a slim, small audio monitor that I could stuff in my diaper bag on the go. That fits the bill. Both the base unit and parent unit are small and thin and don't take up much space in a diaper bag. The parent unit is wireless and has a belt clip. The base unit is wired, but even the power transformer is small. The sound quality seems sensitive enough for our needs.

After a couple of expensive monitors broke, I went to Target and bought this cheap monitor. That was two years ago and I carried this thing around and dropped it and got wet and generally abused. The hook strap broke off (from one of the many falls), but still works perfectly. We now have another child and I bought a second one. It works great too. It doesn't have any special functions, just ON and OFF, but it always works and I like it.

I am writing this at 3:30am because this poorly designed product has the unfortunate trait of keeping me up all night. For some reason they designed the emitting block to be almost a 5 inch block of bright blue glowing light. It literally lights up the whole room at night when I'm trying to sleep. There is no way to dim the light. And now it starts flickering continuously all night. I cannot understand why a product is made that is used as a night light in the dark for at least 12 hours a day…

I bought this unit to replace a baby monitor I had. I had the same model but after about 2 years I had serious problems with it not charging and turning off in the middle of the night even when connected to the cable because it was not receiving power. This monitor is exactly what I needed. My baby sleeps with the fan on with white noise. I needed something that would pick up her voice over the fan noise. This monitor does just that. I can hear the constant hum of the fan through the monitor (which is to be expected), but I can hear it making even the slightest noise. Most monitors are not sensitive enough for this.
