Not UV so not what I wanted for the Chinese cabinet

Maybe it's my fault but wanted a UV violet/black light to make the uranium glassware glow. These don't work for this. I have to find others.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Something else

Not a real black light

This is not a real black light. There is no such black light effect when objects themselves glow with fluorescent and glow-in-the-dark colors. Very matte and hardly purple.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Don't buy this product

Don't expect your stuff to glow under this light. it's weak It is better as a heating element than a black light bulb. I have a black lighted pen that uses two AAA batteries and is MUCH better than that lightbulb.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Good clear black light lamp

I needed a dimmer light on my desk when I was having a bad headache. I have them often. This bulb works great allowing me to see without bright white light.

Pros
  • Medium base
Cons
  • Discontinued

waste of money! best bulb

I have uranium glass in a lighted curio cabinet on a 1ft x 3ft x 3ft shelf so it's a very small area. Glass reacts to UV light by glowing neon green. This bulb corresponded to the size of the lamp. I plugged it in and it lit up, but so faintly there was no response at all. You couldn't even tell the light was on, even at night. I just bought a cheap $5 self-adhesive UV stick at Walmart and they lit up like a Christmas tree. Don't waste money. Serious.

Pros
  • average lamp life 2000 hours
Cons
  • dim
