Thawing time for life plus

Ideal for OEM TIMERS. If it lasts another 27 years, then everything will be fine. However, I bought a spare for $11. So damn good for five decades!

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Item arrived as described and on time

This is indeed a defrost timer but not for a negative temperature freezer as stated on the Revain website. It's useless to me - I had to buy a $200+ Subzero control card

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it everything is fine

Helped solve a problem in Sub-Zero

Installed this timer on my Subzero 500 Series Fridge Freezer. The problem was that the freezer iced up at times and became unusable. The schedule of this timer is different from the original one. At the same time installed a new limit switch. The combination solved the problem, but I can't say if I could have done it alone,

Installed in 1961 Sub-Zero Freezer

We have a 1961 built freezer in our house. Very cool (looks like it). The old timer has breathed its last and I couldn't find a timer with 5 tabs, yes the original had 5 connection points on the timer. Eventually I called Sub-Zero and spoke to a technician about this after the operator was satisfied that Sub-Zero did not make a freezer with the model number I provided. The technique was great! He faxed me a schematic with his notes on how to rewire the freezer to get the 4-link timer to work…

Worked the same as the original part when new

My Sub-Zero freezer had trouble forming ice cubes and icicles on the edges of the cooling unit. I remembered this freezer showing the same symptoms about 6 years ago and I spent $200 calling a service technician to fix it. All he did during that time was swap out the defrost timer and everything was back to normal. So this time I decided to order a new timer and replace it myself since it was such a cheap part. It was easy to do and solved the problem once again. I saved myself the cost of…

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Has imperfections
