where this product has been all my life

God what a great idea, this product was easy to use and safe. I used it to add an inverter to my RV. I wanted a smaller inverter that could be turned off with a key so I didn't have to remember to turn it off. This product made electrical connection very easy. It took 2 minutes to make a safe, fused connection to my 12 volt fuse box. 5 begins

The easiest way to get power for accessories

With this device I got access to power for the relay. Note that fuse blocks have a hot side and a neutral side. The wire on this tap must come out on the neutral side. My only concern is that this wire will come out straight from the side and in my case straight to other components in the fuse area. I had to bend things to install this. It is better to use a more flexible wire.

Standard size fuse is not really standard

Product looks good but name and description are misleading. This "standard" fuse tap will not fit any of my three cars - 2 GM and Honda as the most common fuse size is "mini" which is not the case. The description should be expanded to explain that fuses come in different sizes and the box should allow us to choose the correct size accompanied by a photo showing the different fuse sizes/shapes.

way to add chains!

The pins are a little longer than expected but are fully seated and the device conducts electricity as expected. You will need to install two fuses of the same amperage to pass the current (not sure if this was unexpected or not but as the item only comes with one 10A fuse per holder you will need to add one). Definitely a lot cleaner than traditional fuse taps and a heck of a lot safer than just sticking a wire in a fuse box.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • High price

Cheap Quality Assurance Tap

They seem to be of pretty good quality with good connections and in my particular case they worked great. I only needed one, but now I have a few extras to add to my toolbox. I have an old full size jeep that I am slowly returning and anyone who works with old cars knows what people do with cars 40 years later is just amazing. The wiring always seems to break for reasons unknown, this fuse tap made it easy to get the factory gauges restored and working without having to remove the dash and…

Worked great! for fuses and accessories

Runs like clockwork. It's a lot easier than trying to find a wire to insert and remove without leaving a trace. I found the circuit I needed (key turned on), pulled out the original fuse, put it in the extra fuse (bottom slot), put the fuse for my new accessory in the top slot, put the extra fuse in the now vacant slot in the fuse box. Plug the power cable from my new device into the supplied crimp connector, wrap it around and you're done! Just check polarity (which side is hot) and plug the…

Very easy way to connect to available power using a fuse box

This is a great way to connect to a fuse box without having to cut or splice wires or lose fuses by disconnecting them for another purpose. I've used them a few times and they're particularly handy for hooking up to a power source that only turns on when the headlights are on and I don't have to think much. For example I bought a compass with a built in flashlight but I didn't want it to run 24/7 and wanted the light to only come on when I needed it so I could use a fuse to protect the…
