Yes! Glue the coins below as many have suggested!

I would have found it earlier! When you first get it it's light and falls, but if you put pennies under it, it works beautifully! I have a Surebonder H-195 Mini Glue Gun, skinny so I left the metal stand attached to it; This will help hold the glue gun in place.

Pros
  • Not only usable for the intended purpose
Cons
  • Negative impression

You can make it even more effective

I ordered this because my hot glue gun kept tipping over. It helped, but because it's so light, the gun would still tip over if I didn't place it properly. My decision. . . I turned the base of this shelf upside down and got twenty pennies. I took my hot glue gun and glued every twenty cents into the bottom of the base to give it some weight. Now it never tips over and costs me an extra twenty cents.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

It only took a few minutes and now it works perfectly. See Photos

As other reviewers have noted, the base of this stand requires more weight. Hot gluing 20p to the base worked well. Thanks to the previous reviewer for the advice. We have a glue gun with a sturdy "leg" instead of the more usual two-legged built-in stand, so it didn't hold up very well on this one. I took a dremmel and machined two grooves in it. It only took a few minutes and now it works perfectly. See photos. Once you set it up correctly it's very useful and we use it every time we use a…

You get what you pay for. it s cheap.

I probably should have returned it, but I wanted to at least try the "penny in the base" tip that others have mentioned in their reviews. Yes, 45 neatly folded pennies taped to the base really helped with stability. but (my mistake) I really should have sized it to fit my hot glue gun. (I have a full-size (not mini) 60/100W Cobiz Dual Power hot glue gun. Yellow.) Unfortunately, the stand on this stand is too small to hold my glue gun unless I move the gun forward (and the hot drop tip outside…

Not suitable for all glue guns

Very weak base. It's so light that the weight of my regular medium-sized hot glue gun knocks it over if not placed that way. The glue gun I own is the Ad Tech Dual Temperature Cordless Full Size Gun, which can be found at Wal-Mart (not to be confused with the Hybrid Multi Temperature Gun, which has a built-in base in the grip). The stand will not properly support my glue gun if the trigger is not secured in the notches on the stand (not visible in the picture). When you sit on such a stand, the

Solid company and great gun.

First of all I have a lot of Surebonder guns because they all work great. It does exactly what it promises and does it very well. I buy Surebonder glue guns partly because they and mine work, and partly for this reason. I bought another model of surebonder gun and to be honest it was a lemon. It did not work; it had just passed quality control and should have ended up in the trash, not in my hands. If I hadn't bought other well-made and durable shotguns, including this one, I wouldn't have…

Cheaply made but not bad with a little tweaking

This product isn't bad, but it's not perfect. It consists of two parts: a round base and a small holder that fits into a slot in the base. The non-stick pad is a thin, flexible plastic disc with four small pins that go through holes in the base to hold it in place (it comes pre-assembled). The stand is too light to hold a glue gun alone, but has a screw hole so you can screw it to any work surface. Aside from that, you can do what a lot of other people have suggested and stick pennies on the…
