Description of πŸ”§ Enhance Woodworking Precision with Surface Bearing Rounding Radius 1 Cutting Tools

Corner Rounding Edge-forming Router Bit : 1/2"Radius, Bearing Dia. 1/4 Shank. Unlike a regular square-edge bearing, it follows the radiused surface produced on the first pass. Will neither leave a flat spot nor gouge the edge. The basic edge-forming bit, the corner-rounding bit rounds an edge to a given radius. The tool is shouldered to cut a fillet. The cut can be used to ease edges, as a simple profile, or as a part of a complex one. Also known as roundover, rounding over, and quarter-round. If a smaller pilot bearing is used, a second shoulder can be produced, in effect making the bit a beading bit. Used in concert with either the Counter-top ('No-Drip') Design bit or the corner-rounding bit with a radius bearing, this bit will produce a no-drip edge or a bullnose in two passes.

Great beat, great price!

This instrument is well built and used in making Native American flutes. It's sharp, well balanced and cuts very well leaving a smooth finish. The bearing is free to move and does not slip. This is the second Tideway bit I've bought and will buy more as the need arises. Quality product for the price. Highly recommended.

for making red oak trim

1 1/2 inch rounded router bit for making oak trim for kitchen cabinets. The cutter leaves a good finish, works well. speed and do not make heavy cuts. It depends on the right material feed and the right cutting speed. The finish can be a little rough if you cut against the grain. I will update if observations change after prolonged use.

Pros
  • Parts and supplies for router bits
Cons
  • I will add later

Stump after sawing a foot of wood

Used to round out the legs of a gantry table. So used to working 4 feet, didn't even get past the first leg before it became blunt. I had to manually sharpen between each leg. I think you get what you pay for. However, I also bought another large bat from another seller for the same price and it survived. I probably should have returned. It was white oak, such a hard wood, but wasn't that what they were made for?

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • High Price
