Ideal for tracking rows on circular needles

This little device is a handy reminder to keep track of cords when knitting in the round on circular needles. I have another line counter that I use but sometimes I forget if I clicked or counted on it. This one is on a wire and I have to move it when I reach the end of the row so I don't forget to count that row. When I first got it, it was almost impossible to turn around. My husband sprayed some lube on it and worked with it to flip it over. Now it's perfect.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No machine

Numbers are hard to read at times

I am currently using this #10 spoke row counter and found the counter ring to be quite large so not sure how it is This works with thinner needles and smaller stitches. One of the two wheels you spin to change the numbers works fine, while the other has a hard time spinning. I also found some of the numbers to be difficult to read as they line up with the small windows at the top and bottom. For example, 7 might look like 1. Otherwise it does what it's supposed to do.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other samples

At first glance it looks fragile and breaks easily, but it's better built than it looks. Mine has held up well; I tried taking the parts apart to check it out. It's in good condition. (I tried taking it apart to see if I could remove the hanging ring. I wanted to put the countershaft on my knitting needles. It's a lot stronger than it looks.) It…

  • Hands free mode
