Swanson CCL001 Cross Check Tool Review

Pretty good basic level. Absolutely light, cheap plastic. But it is sufficient for simple household use. Use it as is or tape it to a pretty square board. Good enough for me, but pros should opt for something more expensive and tougher.

We have been inspecting homes for many years and until recently never needed a spirit level. One of our homes had sloping porch steps and it was difficult for us to capture this in a picture without a level. Normal spirit levels are longer and cannot fit into our tool belt without falling out. This one is perfect. It's small enough to attach to your camera strap without adding weight.

A decent level actually. I use it on my GoPro mountain bike camera when the camera is mounted on the head tube. This gives me a quick vertical frame of reference. Because my camera is so small, I had to cut one of the bubble level parts out of the holder part. The bladder part survived the Dremel operation and then I glued it to the camera body. Has been working for several weeks now. Paid 5.53 and shipping was free. Purchased directly from Revain on 01/24/2011.

Ordered received 2. Easy to read. Tested on a previously known flat surface by rotating in 90 degree increments. The bubbles were slightly off-center. I felt around the bottom edge of the plastic case, scraping off tiny ridges with my thumbnail. (Do not use a knife as this can result in an uneven surface.)
