Won't flatten out

I bought this kit primarily for two 8mm wing nuts to clamp two power cords to my 2000w inverter rather than using a wrench on the hex nuts provided. These wing nuts WILL NOT FIT as the threaded hole in them is not aligned with their base (true right angle) resulting in them NOT ATTACHING the flat end of the connector all the way around and loosely clamping the wire causing poor contact.
