I'm having some compatibility issues with my HP (ENVY model 15M-ED0023DX) but it's easy to fix to make it work properly. The unit itself gets warm, but not very hot, and the picture quality is perfect - my primary monitor is a 55-inch 4K TV and my secondary monitor is a 40-inch Emerson HD. Overall I'm very happy with it, not to mention the compatibility issues.

This took my virtual learning game to the next level. I can see all my students, their Chromebook screens and Google Slides at the same time. It has helped make my life as a teacher much smoother. I've noticed that the screens turn on and off randomly when I don't turn on my laptop with the device connected. To stop this, I just make sure it's connected to the network before turning on my laptop. I highly recommend this device.

I tried replacing it thinking my first one might just be faulty but the problem has recurred. The screens I have connected to it lose signal completely a few times a day and the only way to keep them awake is to keep moving the windows. Mouse movements or normal activities do not turn off the screens. This is very frustrating as I am using it with a work laptop and it is interfering with my work.

I was very happy with this product and it worked exactly as expected. I used to buy Syntech products for my Macbook Air but this was for my wife's laptop. The packaging was good and the item arrived in perfect condition. The ability to add two monitors in such a small space is simply outstanding. Please note that this does not work with all laptops, so make sure your laptop is compatible before purchasing. If it is compatible you will be very happy with this purchase. Dislikes The order was placed yesterday afternoon, received this afternoon. My work laptop [Lenovo ThinkPad T14s] now has 2 large external monitors connected via HDMI. EXTENDED display, not mirrored. Couldn't be happier. And thinking about it, I figured I'd have to buy an expensive dock ($200+). This adapter is worth the money. Do yourself a favor, stop squinting at your tiny laptop monitor and treat your eyeballs to a visually better and more productive setup.

The main problem is that many USB->HDMI adapters can only display the SAME full size image of your monitor and duplicate it on multiple external monitors. It's non-trivial to split an image between two monitors so that it EXTENDS the screen (Mail on the left monitor, Chrome on the other). This adapter does just that. Watch your diet.
