Cheap but works well

This little all plastic RMP meter comes with a vinyl sleeve and several strips of reflective tape. You cut the ribbon into small pieces. You can stick a piece on the anchor of the desired measurement object. You can also add 2 items for more precision and there is a setting for that. It runs on 3 AAA batteries that you need. Extremely accurate in movement, speed and power

I got this non-contact speedometer after encountering a couple of situations recently where I needed to know the RPM of two motors (one electric and one gas powered), but could not measure it. Since I won't be using this that often, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something that collects dust, but could use something fairly inexpensive and give me fairly accurate measurements. Easy to use, very accurate at high speeds

The lightweight plastic body feels cheap at first, but overall it's a solid device. Only 2 buttons to control the counter that shows the revolutions of each rotating object. Reflective tape is included, 10mm (1/2 inch) tape is recommended for best results. I did some testing to see if it matters how close to the band you need to be and it doesn't seem to matter much.
