Regret the purchase: Aquarium lighting

The first one I received was broken, I couldn't get it broken. However, I think this light could have killed or burned my fish.

This product killed our fish.

We tried this product for aquarium disinfection. I have had fish and an aquarium for over two years. All dead in less than 24 hours. DO NOT USE!

Works perfectly. Eliminates cloudy water quickly.

My 150g freshwater aquarium has had cloudy water for several months. After using this UV sterilizer for a week, the water will be crystal clear. It works really great, just don't add it to fish.

Stop working after a week.

I use this in my HOB filter after a week it stopped working now there is no light when it is on a fuse light or something. PLEASE DON'T LOSE YOUR MONEY. RETURN.

Great value for what it is.

What I don't like is that 1 bulb glass is broken even inside the bix despite the styrene protection it came with. I opened the box and heard something fall and when I pulled the bulb out the tip broke off. The other works great in one of my tanks.

Disassembled from the box

As you can see in the picture mine was broken out of the box. The glass tube was cracked but not complete. I believed it despite many mixed reviews as I just needed a quick and dirty fix. Unfortunately, I seem to have committed myself to a defective device. To be fair the packaging seems adequate - the tube fitted snugly against the foam sleeve and there was no slack in the box. I'm wondering if this is more of a quality control issue? Anyway, putting it in the water makes me a little wary…

Works great, just read the instructions!

This lamp works very well. It will clean the tank of green water (algae in the water column) in 2-5 days depending on how often you use it. Please use common sense, DO NOT place an open UV lamp in your tank and then wonder why your fish died! This is ultraviolet light, and it harms any living organism that is directly or nearby exposed to it. Simply place this bulb in a separate filter or plug it into your filter's inlet pipe and it will safely kill any algae and bacteria present in the water…
