Description of Taylor Precision Products Standard Thermometer

The 1-inch dial thermometer features a red pointer for ease of viewing. A temperature range of 0 degrees to 220 degrees Fahrenheit with a degree division of 2 degrees Fahrenheit make this thermometer flexible and accurate. One-point calibration gives you +/- 2 degree accuracy at the dial midpoint and +/- 4 degree accuracy at the range extremes. Superior shock protection comes from stainless-steel construction and an unbreakable polycarbonate crystal lens. The stainless-steel stem is 5 inches long to reach deep inside foods to ensure even cooking.

The Best Meat Thermometer

This is without exception the best meat thermometer on the market. Forget digital readings, they break. This is used by professionals.

Did a kitchen and dining room job

I used to work in food production and was a chef and we always used these Taylor pocket thermometers. They did the job and were inexpensive so they weren't too expensive when we needed to buy more.

Pros
  • good cause
Cons

Seems to be accurate

It just arrived so I tested it. It appears to be accurate but responds more slowly than our other thermometers of the same type. When checking the temperature of food, you don't want to wait. If I had to do it again I would look for a different block. Taylor brand and made in China.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Sad packaging

I will not buy again. The thermometer doesn't hold.

The thermometer works well except the blue holder does not hold the thermometer in place. It's totally free, so every time I lean a little it falls straight to the ground. I have the same one I got at school about 10 years ago and never had this problem. I would not buy again.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Thermometer quickly loses accuracy

Thermometer loses accuracy after a short time. I mainly use it to froth milk for latte (140 degrees) or to heat milk for making yoghurt (185 degrees). In the last few days the thermometer didn't seem to be accurate. I compared it with a digital thermometer and found a deviation of more than 30 degrees. Looks like the thermometer went down in less than two months.

Pros
  • Ingeniously made
Cons
  • disappears

This product is suitable when you want to wait 5 minutes to get an accurate measurement. Setting up this thermometer takes a long time. I overcooked most food thinking it was a safe temperature because it would never come up to temperature fast enough before the food started to cool. I bought another quick read digital thermometer and compared and my food was always ready but not up to date. It's pretty easy to read but if you have a kid that cooks and helps it can be confusing. I would also…

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Empty
