DRAM-free drive, don't waste your time.

Built a gaming PC with a fast processor, lots of RAM, a killer GPU, an NVME OS and this SSD for storage. Everything was great until I tried to download something > 2GB and this drive brought my computer to its knees, everything froze, I couldn't click anything and the only option was to wait an hour for this drive to load 25MB of data would have. every 5-10 seconds or restart the computer. I just upgraded to Samsung 970 EVO Plus and all my issues are resolved. Don't waste your time with this

No DRAM, low performance

URGENTLY DO NOT buy this SSD. It was recommended to me by a trusted source, but the performance numbers speak for themselves. This SSD is e-waste. I have revision R1108A0. Maybe previous versions were better. It's not uncommon for a company to launch a good SSD and then discreetly rework it to later use junk components while earning good reviews. I don't know if it happened here, but I know this version is bad. Avoid at all costs.

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Some small things

Died after 2 months

After purchasing and installing it as part for my new custom PC it died after 2 months for no reason and hasn't worked since and all I get is an error that "Disk Management" window says "The specified device does not exist". I filed a complaint with Revain who told me to file a complaint with the manufacturer/seller who never responded or anything! Nothing was done to compensate for the outage, so I'm living with 1.5TB now. A year later it's still on the PC and I'm trying to get it to work and…

Damn it's a must have

So for me a normal person would never have any idea about the speed of a big brand like Samsung or a cheaper model like Sunbow so I chose Sunbow. I have a new Acer Predator laptop. Setting it up is a bit silly. It has 2 m.2 drives and a regular SSD drive, so my first upgrade is a 1TB SSD. Works great, I have no complaints. I wasn't looking for the m.2 solar arc but if there is one I will buy one. I could go download with Samgung Evo. With it I can clone the hard drive. Before that I am very…

It dies on me after a little over a year of average use.

I bought it about 16 months ago and installed it on my desktop. Recently, I've noticed that performance is slowing down - game load times have become too slow to play (Overwatch rounds start with no character models loaded, etc.). I did a test and found the write speed to be ok - a bit slower than my other SSD (Samsung Evo) but acceptable. However, the reading speed is MUCH slower than it should be. 75-90% slower than write speed. So something on this drive is dying for me.

  • cool product
