Needs to drain less than a pound of short pasta but handles a pound of this type well. While this isn't a huge problem, my only concern is that there might be more pasta scrapers snagging in a few holes than I'd like. Therefore, washing requires a little more attention than just rinsing inside and out.

I was looking for a stainless steel colander with smaller holes for rice and small grains. This is fully compliant. The 3 liter size is also perfect for my 3 liter sauce boat so I can even use it as a steamer. Nice big side handles. I just want them to make it in additional sizes so I have a set.
