Works as expected. If you want extremely low temperatures, try using the hot side to cool the heatsink. The chip works with temperature differences. For example, if your hot side is air-cooled at 60f, you might get 0f. If the radiator is around 32f in ice water, you can get -30f on the cold side.
I have repaired two wine coolers and have two more to repair. This 10 bottle wine cooler uses a 12706 thermoelectric cooler, but I put in 12709 because it cools more efficiently in hot weather (Dominican summers are hell!). They have a little more power, but the PSU can handle that just fine. I recommend it!
Cloud Chamber. It replaces dry ice. As a test, I briefly connected each to a 9-volt battery. In less than a second, as the red wire went to the battery positive terminal, the radiators became almost painfully cold on one side and warm on the other. The cold side was the one that had the model number printed on it. Don't let them run for more than a second until they're secured to the fan heatsink with thermal paste or you'll ruin them. Arctic 5 thermal paste is a popular choice. They can heatβ¦
