I should have paid more and it got better. Buyer warning!

I bought a new iMac 27" with Apple 8GB RAM A-Tech 2x8GB RAM1). Slots 2 and 4 (closest to iMac 4). The A-Tech RAM was not in the Installed in slots 1 and 3 (iMac wouldn't boot), so we had to move Apple RAM to 1 and 3 and A-Tech storage to 2 and 4. Strange.2) This new iMac had dozens of smaller ones from day one My old 24" iMac from 2011 never had any problems. Too many things to mention, but here are a few: (a) audio levels gradually drop and then disappear, it takes a few reboots to fix them /…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

I bought two 16GB RAM cards for my new 2019 iMac (Retina 5K 27 inch). This is my first Mac, so I went with the cheapest option with a meager 8GB of RAM. Being a total newbie, I followed a YouTube tutorial on how to install maps and it was very easy. Actually much easier than expected. However, it was a brand new computer and my first two attempts to turn it on after installing the cards were unsuccessful. I thought the A-Tech RAM was faulty and before I sent them back I went through the reviews

Works well, but the iMac can be picky about the slots used.

It seems to be working so far, but there was an error during installation. I used them in a new 2020 27" iMac along with Apple's base 8GB RAM. The preinstalled flash drives were in slots 2 and 4. When I added them to slots 1 and 3, the computer would not boot and the screen remained black. I did a quick google search and found that this is not a unique problem. One proposed solution was to move Apple's RAM to slots that were originally left open. When I tried this (Apple RAM in slots 1 and 3…

At first it didn't work. BUT I have google.

Awesome I got my new iMac in this week and installed these babies before I even turned it on but woop-wump. Can not be switched on. company contacted. Nothing. I consulted with google and found a forum that said the OEM 4GB memories were in the first and last slots and the new 16GB were in the second and third slots. (4, 16, 16, 4). Booted up with no issues, checked out about this mac and seen a glorious 40GB breathe life into me.

Works great with my iMac (Retina 5K 27 inch 2019)

Great! Works on my iMac 27 inch. I also left the original RAM. All my software works so well now. Good product! I didn't rate the games because I don't play. Since I opened a few memory-hungry programs, I had no problems.

Kernel panic triggered new 2020 Mac mini with macOS Catalina 10.15.4

The memory was inexpensive and the installation was fairly easy according to a YouTube tutorial video by 9to5 Mac. However, after installation, I experienced intermittent kernel panics when attempting to render video in FCPX. Sometimes the system rebooted without warning. Called A-Tech and fixed the problem over the phone to no avail. Unfortunately, A-Tech doesn't have diagnostic tools to check your memory and generate a report to see if there are any memory issues. I decided to return the…
