Cheaper alternative to the GoPro Remote

The Telesin remote is a decent alternative to buying a GoPro remote. Almost half the price. I connected the remote to my black GoPro Hero 8 camera and it works most of the time. There were times when the remote wouldn't turn on my GoPro, but that was a coincidence and I've never figured out why it wouldn't connect sometimes. But for the most part it does the job. You can start/stop recording and change settings from photo to video. The OLED screen is certainly helpful in understanding theโ€ฆ

  • โœ… With four setting buttons, especially for set shortcuts, only TELESIN Remote has this function! The updated "Set Remote Parameters" button allows you to conveniently tag "HiLight Tag".

Suitable for SOME uses

The battery never charges above 85% and sometimes drains very quickly and sometimes it seems to last a little longer, but the GoPro8 lasts longer than this remote. They say it doesn't need "line of sight" but I'm not sure I'll buy it. It works great with a wing mounted GoPro on my light general purpose aircraft. Today I installed it under the front bumper of my Tundra pickup to capture some special biker shots. The remote control couldn't communicate with the GoPro because of the steeringโ€ฆ

Doesn't turn the camera on, just turns it off. Some features do not work with new GoPro cameras.

Dislikes:1. After pairing, the remote control turns the camera off but doesn't turn it back on. The real GoPro Smart Remote does just that. This is a serious problem since your primary use of the remote is to be able to turn the camera off and on. You have to keep the camera on the whole time to be able to record when you press the record button on the remote control. I use mine mounted on the back of the bike and ride long distances when I don't want to record anything. If I have to leave theโ€ฆ
