Description of Tenq Battery Baofeng Uv 5R Radio

Using Battery: Using Six (6) NiMh AA cells, this will provide 7.2V to the radio. If you install 6 AA Alkaline or Zinc Carbon cells, it will provide 9V and the radio will not go into transmit. If you must use Alkaline or Zinc Carbon cells, use five of them and a dummy AA, this will set the output voltage to 7.5V. Note: all voltages quoted are for open circuit. Handy and Convenient. Case only, batteries are not included. If install 6 AA Alkaline or Zinc Carbon cells, the receiver works but the radio won't transmit. Package include: 1* Battery case.

Fits and works well with Baofeng BF-F9V2+ and UV-5R+

Fits my Baofeng BF-F9V2+ and UV-5R+. A plug inside is a little loose. You need to pull the connector a little to tighten the contact with 1 row of the battery. Everything else works great!

Surprisingly good. for accessories

Concerned about the quality but surprised. The case feels firm and solid and is powered and powered by 6 rechargeable AA batteries. However, I did not test it with 5 non-rechargeable batteries and a dummy battery.

Pros
  • Good assembly
Cons
  • Very expensive

You didn't send it with the correct empty cell!?!

This case does not include a connector for use with higher voltage alkaline batteries. If you want to use rechargeable cells in this case you should be fine, but if you are using standard alkaline batteries you will not be able to transmit with the radio due to the higher total voltage of alkaline batteries. This is a pretty big problem in my opinion and I wouldn't recommend this product as it seems like it sucks whether you get a dummy battery or have an unexpected cost to buy that separate…

Definitely worth $8

I thought it was an alternative power source. Quality and processing are fine. Snaps into place smoothly and easily, just like the original Baofeng battery. I have four UV5Rs and it fits all four perfectly. One reviewer complained about the battery door not staying closed - mine closes securely and it actually takes a bit of effort to open, which is good so I don't have to worry about it falling apart. Another reviewer complained that it didn't include a dummy battery, which is only needed if…

Pros
  • Case only, batteries not included
Cons
  • There are nuances

A quality case with some quality control issues that can be resolved.

Ordered two just in case. Of course I tried them to make sure they work. They work fine. But you must use a dead battery if you use 5 regular AA batteries (1.5 volt) when you want to transmit. Batteries with 6 AA (1.2 volts) are suitable for transmission. Dummy batteries can be bought online for about $1 each. The housings are made of high quality and durable hard plastic, very similar to the housing of a radio receiver. After the batteries are installed, the two halves of the case separate…
