I can finally straighten my short hair without burning my fingers with plates that are too wide. Just as effective as my CHI straightener, but even better because I can control the temperature. It's not a 'smart' iron because it doesn't remember the last temperature I left it at, but that's a small compromise considering how well it performs in every other way.

I love this mini iron! My hair is terribly curly so I go to the salon twice a year to straighten my hair. But my hair grows so fast that I have to flat iron this new hair to make it less frizzy or I have to tie my hair up all the time. This straightener is just the right size for me and I think it works well for short hair too. I think most buyers of this item would prefer a very short haircut. It looked good. Unfortunately, not only did the plates get hot, the area of plastic or whatever surrounding the plates got hot as well. This does not apply to the large Chi iron I own which is now too big for the job. As the iron was very hot I couldn't use it around my ears without burning myself so I had to send it back. If my hair wasn't so short, I would probably be very happy about it.

I have very short hair and most of the time I just wash and wear it without fuss. But I managed when I want to dress up my hair a bit more for dressing up. I was afraid it might burn me because I have short hair but I can use it without any problem. The temperature control is amazing - you set the exact temperature you need - and heats up very quickly.
