An essential for skincare, a natural pesticide, and so much more.

Neem oil is a brilliant, naturally derived pesticide among a host of other uses. It has a very distinctive smell - a cross between garlic and stale oil used for frying chicken. It takes some getting used to, especially if used for skin or scalp care. I make something I call a 'pesticide for people, plant, and pets', using Neem oil, essential oils of peppermint, lavender, and tea tree. To keep my plants pest free - I put about a pint of water into a spray bottle, add 15-20 drops of essential…

Pros
  • Beauty & Personal Care
Cons
  • The suggested usage instructions on the bottle are vague and may be confusing for some users

Excellent As An Organic Pesticide

I first did some research on organic pesticides. Through research, I came across Neem Oil as an effective preventive pesticide. I use it on all my vegetable, plant and flower garden growth; leaves and all. In addition, I spray it on my Meyer Lemon Tree as a preventative from destructive chewing insects. Note: Neem will not harm beneficial insects; only those that are the destructice chewing type. "I also spray my entire orange tree the same way." The Neem helps in many ways. From destructive…

Its Benefits are Unlimited

I purchased this product to use in a soap for my niece who suffers horribly with acne. She has tried every commercial product on the market without much success, it either did not work at all or worked in clearing up her acne but let her face dry and patchy. I did considerable research to determine what would work best for her skin issues and everything I read keep coming back to Neem Oil. Neem oil contains high levels of antioxidants that help protect the skin from environmental damage. Neem…

Pros
  • If you like Neem scent, great stuff. Works well.
Cons
  • The smell is very strong

Great for hair and plant pests

Yes it smells, but like everyone else says mix it with other nice smelling hair oils and it is tolerable. The issue I had with the smell is kinda funny. I mixed it with my Dabur Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil 150ml (Pack of 2) and my Mahabhringraj Oil 2 bottles of 200 ml ea, Scalp Massaging Oil Ramakrishna Pharma Brand - Ayurvedic Medicine and it wasn't bad at all, you could smell the Neem, subtly, but when I went to exercise class and began to sweat, I could smell it big time ( I hoped…

Pros
  • Skin Care
Cons
  • The scent of the oil is strong and may not be appealing to all users

Awesome oil at a great price

I've used this oil, although a different brand, before. I swear by it as a moisturizer and it has helped clear up my acne. I use it for anything now, just to see if it will heal it - fire ant bites, dog scratches, chafing from a long run, whatever. I do think it helps speed healing. I've also put it in my hair while running and let the heat help it penetrate and think my ends seem much softer and more luxurious (when I remember to do this). The oil has a very unique scent, but it's not as…

Pros
  • TheraTree Oleavine Neem Oil is an all-natural solution that contains zero chemicals or harsh additives, making it a safe and effective option for those with sensitive skin
Cons
  • The oil may have a short shelf life and may go rancid quickly if not stored properly

It pretty much smells like strong baked dry peanut skin

This is some strong aromatic stuff. It pretty much smells like strong baked dry peanut skin, with a light garlicly smell. Not so much as god awful: if you can stand smelling distilled vinegar for long periods of time (that stuff is way stronger) you should be ok with this. You just need a bit of getting used to.The smell aside, I've read this is some powerful panacea for every skin trouble you can ever run into: antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflamatory, deep relaxing warmth smothering oil…

Pros
  • Oleavine
Cons
  • The oil may not be effective for all skin types or skin conditions

Unbearable scent - Use only if nothing else works for you!

Like many other reviewers here I have to mention the smell because before anything else, that is what you will notice.I have been a fan of mixing oils (jojoba, avocado, coconut, apricot and argan) into other products like lotions and conditioner as well as my hair color product for many years for the added benefits they offer. I live in an extremely dry, arid climate at high altitude and my skin and hair need all the help they can get. I don't suffer from eczema, psoriasis or any other skin…

Pros
  • B013FAJDVI
Cons
  • The product does not have any SPF protection, making it necessary to use additional sunscreen
