I bought this thermos because I drove 700 miles. I wanted to make coffee so it stays warm until morning. It wasn't until I received the bottle that I saw that it was for cold liquids only. With little to choose from, I decided the worst I could do was ruin the bottle. I used it for coffee and it worked as I hoped. Insulation (foam) between 2 plastic parts that are fixed with glue. After a few months the water starts soaking the foam rubber and it starts to smell but there is no way to clean it because it is constantly glued but poorly sealed. The thermos comes with a 5 year limited warranty, but shipping this item will cost almost as much as buying a new one. I bought this thermos for use outside when I do summer camp classes. Last year I used an ordinary thermos of the same capacity. I fill the cooler with ice cubes and water at 5am every morning and at 6pm the ice cubes have not completely melted. This is a great cooler with lots of nice touches. With other cool boxes with a fold-out spout, this wears out over time and breaks. It will start popping up and you will constantly try to put it back in place. To make matters worse, it also starts to leak, so that you get water on yourself. This cooler solves this problem. The spout is fixed, there are no moving parts to wear out
