Nice, but the manufacturer skimped on the screws.

Very nicely made hook and clasp. Unfortunately, the manufacturer tightened the screws. Instead of some decorative screws to match the decorative nature of the hardware, the included 8 5/8" El Cheapo drywall screws. The matte finish of the drywall screw didn't match the black gloss of the item. I know the item is relatively cheap, but hey , charge an extra fee and order some screws in bulk that look good.

Well made but too bulky for my sliding barn door

I wish this hook and eye would fit my sliding barn door. I read a question and answer where someone said the eye is only 1/2 inch deep. It is actually 1 inch deep and too bulky for my door to function properly. This actually keeps my door from sliding all the way down as it gets caught on the door padding. I was hoping for 1/2 inch depth. It wasn't, but the product is well made and worth the money.

Gives a beautiful look to cedar fences and gates.

I've had two calls. One of them was to keep my side gate latch from hitting and breaking the adjoining window. The other was keeping the gate open when sometimes I needed both hands to carry things through the gate. So I installed a short 4x4 post into the ground with the maximum opening width I wanted and then installed this booth hook to hold the gate open when I needed it. The result looks clean, tidy, and professional (and a lot more civilized than the half-brick I used to keep the gateโ€ฆ
