Great article. The galvanized tire holder fits well on my .

Excellent product. Galvanized Tire Holder Fitted well to my 3" x 4" trailer frame. It looks like the included hardware isn't galvanized. The two bolts that attach the tire to the mount are twice as long as those on my trailer and I couldn't use the flat head that came with my strong Gorilla wrench. https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Automotive-1721-Telescopic-Wrench/dp/B000CMJ2KU

Good value, good fit

Fits great on my 2014 EZ Loader trailer with the same Arima 17ft 5-lug Sea Chaser. I'm mostly in salt water so electroplating is a must. The mounting hardware fits well but is not galvanized. Eventually, when the gear gets rusty and looks awful, it will need to be replaced, but that will take many years. Each season I lightly coat all equipment with grease to prolong life, as is normally done when servicing an outboard or steering system.

Pros
  • GOLS certified

Poor zinc plating and very rough surface.

There were bare metal exposed in several places and there was a lot of sand and grit and there were more bits of metal under the galvanized parts. It would need to be sanded down (against the purpose of galvanizing) to prevent someone from cutting themselves on it, and it would certainly rust. I have returned this item. In addition, the fittings are simply galvanized, not galvanized. It's solidly built, though, and the welds feel solid.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • A long time ago
