Priceless in our work!

Two people are required to operate this tool. One on the ground for setting up and one on the tractor to tension the chain for blocking and lifting. It takes a little practice, but it works very well. It is durable and was invaluable to us when building our transverse walls and flower beds, BIG flower beds. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Hard to tell

I would give the slot five stars.

I would give it five stars, but the slot in the black mounting hook is narrow enough that it won't snag on anything larger than 5/16 inch in diameter. Since it doesn't fit a standard tractor drawbar hole, I ended up using a 1/4" U-bolt, which significantly loosens the whole setup.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Low repairability

Not for use with an ATV.

Everything seems fine. Won't grab onto a log if just dragged like we're behind a quad. I'll have to find a way to hold the tongs on the tree trunk until I start pulling. Ideally they should be spring loaded. If you don't lift the vertical like a tractor, don't buy them, they won't work without an assistant. Somehow makes them angry, they won't take it, but I'll adapt.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Style 90

Makes my job a lot easier!

quality for the price! When I was a kid, there was an ice house in our small town, and men used such a device to move large blocks of ice by hand. Fast forward sixty years and I use this to lift logs with my compact tractor. Some of them are 18 inches in diameter. Now it's the work of one man. The woman just sits and watches. A real lifesaver. Money well spent again. As always, use common sense when you stand up and thank Revain again.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not the best

Broke on first try

Received the 20" Heavy Duty Skidder from Timbertuff today. Really wanted to get home from work and try them out. I got on a tractor, attached a chain, turned a log um and as soon as I started pulling it out the spike broke at the bottom. Makes them utterly useless. The very first try! It was a log about 18" long and about 25 feet long that had been lying on the ground for several days. it has not been hung back and has not been dug into the ground.Extremely disappointed.I will write to theโ€ฆ

Amazing Lifting Power

These are amazing back protectors. We originally bought them to move the massive plates to the log splitter (see picture) but because they grip so quickly and consistently we used them for smaller logs we would normally just risk straining a muscle trying to get up . The log in the picture probably weighs around 450-500 pounds and the hooks held up well. If we failed to hook it into the wet wood a few times, a quick cut with the saw tip or tap with the back of the hammer caused the teeth toโ€ฆ

I've abused them and they work great!

I don't know why some people are complaining about the quality as I attached these tongs to the bucket of my tractor to instantly lift a 17 x 10 foot cottonwood tree and easily transfer it to my log splitter to transport . After a week of almost daily use, willful abuse and use that the manufacturer does not specifically recommend the user, I can say that these tongs are absolutely worth the purchase price, and that was mostly bark that came off the tree when it was directed bounced as I rodeโ€ฆ
