Easy installation, works great so far!

Most SSD upgrades I've found for the 2012 MacBook Air consisted of an adapter that you plugged into the MacBook and to which you attached a standard M.2 connect SATA SSD. I tried one of these first and after a few weeks my Air wouldn't turn on at all. After reinstalling the original drive it worked again but I still needed the extra space. It was the best value I found with a proprietary native interface only used in the 2012 MacBook Air and it worked great :-)

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Style 90

New Life for Old MacBook Air

The 7-year-old MacBook Air was almost out of space on its original 128GB SSD. We didn't need the extra power as it's primarily used for email, web browsing and solitaire, eliminating the need for a newer laptop. Found this 250 gigabit SSD and thought it would help as it took 7 years to max out the original 128. Installation is easy, but no tools are provided. Luckily I had tools from a recent battery change, these are very small torx screws on the case. The only problem is that every hard drive

Installed with no problems

I replaced my MacBook Air 2015 128MB drive with a Timetec 512MB. Made a timeshift backup, loaded the Catalina OS and created a bootable flash drive. Opened the MacBook Air, disconnected the battery and then replaced the Apple drive with Timetec. I connected the battery and booted into recovery mode from a USB stick. Opened up Disk Utility and formatted Timetec to APFS, then went back into Utilities, installed Catalina and restored my files using Timeshift. Worked great. Later upgraded to Big…

Best Memory Investment

I installed the memory to upgrade my 2012 13 inch Macbook Air to 256. From physical installation to file transfer, it was very easy. I used the cloud method. This is of great importance. It's like having a new computer. I recommend it 100% without a doubt. June 15, 2020: Update. After installing this memory, my computer started to warm up more. I don't know if this is a "different" problem or if it belongs to this part. But it started after this update.
