Titanium Adjustable Torque Wrench

Torque wrench for tightening trailer and car nuts. The process and adjustments were easy to understand and the torque wrench worked as advertised.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Revainrating 1 out of 5

it makes a nice loud pop when torque is reached

This wrench was used to install 177 lb-ft strut bolts, it makes a nice loud pop when torque is maintained. The torque adjustment mechanism is also much better than my other cheap port freight torque wrenches.

Pros
  • handy
Cons
  • unreliable

Not as advertised! CAUTION

I have ordered this wrench twice and received a very similar wrench that measures from 30 (not 20) to 150 ft/lb of torque. The label is as advertised, but the wrench itself is only marked for a torque setting of up to 30 ft/lb. The rest of the product looks good. If you need a wrench to set the torque below 30 ft/lb, pay attention to my experience.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Null

Does what it should.

This tool does what it is supposed to. The click can be heard. I have 2 complaints: 1) when it's set between numbers (say you dial 90 on a vertical scale and then move the dial between 4 and 5 to get 95) the knob ends up partially going in but jamming not the torque. I'd prefer not to kick in at all if the torque can't be locked. 2) Poor quality case. Not a clamshell, but a kind of tray with a plastic lid on top that slides inwards.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Some problems

Titan 23150 is the best of wrenches

I have had the Titan 23150 torque wrench for almost a year now. Used probably 4 times The other night I was tightening some nuts on my wife's car and the directional lever broke and stopped clicking when the torque reading was reached. Now I have an expensive keychain. I contacted Titan by filling out a form on their website and received no response. A call to the company also no response. Basically, the company does not endorse its product. Lesson learned.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Very good and accurate torque wrench

I had a toolbox full of very old cheap click bar torque wrenches that I no longer trust in their accuracy. Cheaper clicker wrenches would not click or break torque when hit with torque. I installed a head gasket on my wife's car using cheap wrenches. Gasket ruptured after 3000 km. The second time I repaired the car, I used a titanium wrench. When the set torque was reached, it definitely clicked. At the moment the car has driven more than 10,000, this is one of my most valuable tools.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Modern
