I bought these after not being able to store my last set of hex bits. The holders are made out of fairly hard plastic as opposed to the rubber material that usually comes with bit sets. Ideally, they should be a little more rubbery for better adhesion and easy removal, or have magnets. If your bits are a little too small, they might not hold in place well. I have a few 1/4" bits that I have collected over the years - square shank, Phillips, slotted, torx, etc. but I have kept them in a drawer of my tool box every time if I wanted to use one I had to sort through my collection of bits to find the right one.
