Description of πŸ”§ TOOLUXE 03703L Dual Drive Beam Style Torque Wrench: 3/8” & ½” Drives, 17” Length, 0-150 Ft-Lbs, SAE, Premium Steel Alloy – Superior Torque Control & Durability

[APPLICATION]: A beam style torque wrench is a must-have tool for automobile mechanics because it allows the user to fasten nuts and bolts to an exact tightness measured by torque, which is recommended by car manufacturers. [PRECISION]: This torque wrench uses a calibrated scale fitted to the handle to precisely measure torque and includes a graduated tip to prevent parallax error. [QUALITY]: This dual drive torque wrench is constructed with a powerful steel alloy and a durable corrosion-resistant mirror-chrome finish for long lasting service life in your automotive garage or at home. [EASY-TO-READ]: This intuitive scale is calibrated in both directions from 0 to 150 foot-pounds (SAE), while also in metric from 0 to 20 meter-kilograms for quick and easy readability and convenience to the user. [RELIABLE]: Beam deflection wrenches provide precise readings every time and do not come out of calibration like a drive click torque wrench that must be recalibrated. [VERSATILE]: This tool comes with a 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch anvil, which are included for added versatility and includes a 17” long shaft and grooved handle to help supply ample torque to your bolts and nuts.

It only works

I bought this product because I'm tired of wondering if I'm tightening things up properly on my Pride and Joy machine. It's about 1 ft/lb but close enough that I can do what I need to do and do. I'm going to do a wheel bearing and change the brake discs and pads and also change the DSG gear oil so that will come in very handy as I have about 8 different things that I need to tighten before I start driving and other bolts that only required 20ft/lbs of tightening. It's exactly what I expected…

Works great with 3/8 " or 1/2 " sockets

Works great with 3/8" or 1/2" sockets. The included adapter (1/2" to 3/8") saves you money if you only have 3/8" drive bays. Both sides are 1/2" and you can place the adapter on either side. The detachable Adapter is nice so you can use your sockets on the correct side and see the torque value as the bar and scale are only visible from one side.I would recommend deeper/longer sockets if using it for tire lug testing. You may be asking Realize that the sidewall of the tires is interfering with…

Works like the old

I used my last torque wrench and it lasted 40 years. I stepped on the gauge and there is no easy way to put it back on. It was spot welded. I only change my family's tires twice a year, swapping summer and winter tires, so I only need 90 ft-lbs. I used this on my machine today and it worked fine. I only use 1/2" sockets. If all you do is change tires at home, why spend money on a power wrench or ratchet wrench, especially since you know these new "features" will get you well before they expire…

Good for the price.

So far so good. Bought to take my Harley Davidson and Ram truck's tq specs a bit more demanding. It's held up, but I haven't climbed to 60 foot pounds yet. I'm not sure about the accuracy of the calibration as I have no way of measuring it, but for the price if it's close I'm happy. The fit and finish of the tool isn't that bad, I've seen MUCH worse. REALLY well fastened in sockets. Sockets don't fall off when they shouldn't. Thumbs up. Four stars. *** Edit January 9, 2020 *** I have had the…

Cons
  • The list is getting long.

I've had several "click" style torque wrenches over the years and while some of them worked well, others quickly fell into disrepair. First, I like the ability to attach a double-sided outlet. Does a click type torque wrench have this option? No. This wrench is also easier to use as you don't have to constantly adjust the wrench for different feet/lbs. Values. You can carefully read the force applied to the fastener. It's also easier to use as you can turn the key both forwards and backwards…

Fairly accurate/well made/a little hard to read/reliable value

Before I go into the details I would highly recommend this. It's accurate to the point of error, well made and the price is absurdly low. It's not perfect, mind you, but it's a very solid value. Thoughts: 1. I have no idea what some of the reviewers are talking about when asking how to use this with 3/8; It comes with 3/8 mount as you can see in my photo.2. Also, per my first comment, I have no idea what the reviews are saying that say this can't be used both ways or if you use a 3/8 attachment
