I needed a reliable USB->S/PDIF adapter for my laptop, and while this device is a full DAC, it offers that functionality at a good price. The display is an added bonus, showing real-time status at the bit rate the PC is broadcasting.

Sounds great and well built. Revane asked me to rate the word "transparency" which sounds like a made-up word to a native English speaker. It's a DAC that's better than what's in your computer or phone and can help isolate noise. The sample rate display is useful. PCM and DSD conversion works well. It's lightweight so I use a doorstop at the top to keep it from slipping off the stack (thanks Johnny Darko). Great for ninety nine dollars.

D10 has excellent sound quality from my old Mac Mini. I was looking for a network streamer. I've researched a lot about different network streamers and found that they all have drawbacks and can be very expensive. I first looked at the Bluesound node but figured at $500 it wasn't worth it. Just plug the Topping D10 into your old PC/Mac and you'll get great sound quality when connected to an amplifier or receiver.

I have a special application for Topping D10s. I use it as USB to SPDIF converter. I don't use the DAC function at all. I hooked this up to my PC, then it connects to the Sim MOON 100D DAC via optical SPDIF. The distance between the PC and the DAC is about ten feet, so the audiophile-grade 1.5-meter USB cable and 9-foot fiber optic cable cause no signal loss. This gives me superbly clean and clear sound from the PC to my very insightful stereo.
