I bought this to pump water from portable water containers to my RV while camping on the dock. The pump needs oil when it's new, so I used olive oil to lubricate it. Transferring water from a 7 gallon container to my RV took a minute or two. There is no power switch so the pump turns on as soon as the clamps are attached to the battery, which isn't a big deal as the battery is next to the drinking water tank. I installed this little pump in the trailer we tow behind our ATV. We have a 50 gallon tank on this trailer and we use this pump to fill it with river water from canals around our property so we can water our garden. Filling a 50 liter tank takes 10 minutes.
