Description of Tourist knife Otus, AUS-8 steel, elastron handle

Knife OtusThe first joint project with OWL knife! The wedge sharpening is mainly designed for better penetration into the material being cut, but also withstands high impact loads and “break” loads. Steel AUS-8 hardness 57-59 HRC, Japanese stainless steel is the golden mean among all knife steels, holds sharpening well, the steel can be easily sharpened even with improvised means, good impact load indicators. At a low price, this is an excellent choice for both professionals and amateurs. The elastron handle is rubber-plastic, highly practical and wear-resistant, the porous texture provides good and confident tenacity with the handle even if grease gets on your hands. Sheath ABS plastic - impact-resistant plastic, the main advantage of which is ease of manufacture, excellent strength, good resistance to elevated temperatures and, at the same time, a very low price. The sheath is equipped with a universal free suspension, and also has an interesting roller system for locking the knife in the sheath. Full length - 258 mm Blade length - 140 mm Blade thickness - 3.8 mm Steel - AUS-8 Handle material - elastron

I like everything, the price and quality are acceptable.

An incomprehensible knife for me: it is somehow unbalanced. And it has nothing to do with the quality of the materials used. Sharpening out of the box requires fine-tuning. But the scabbard, for all their simplicity and relative cheapness, I liked it.

Pros
  • Sheath. Price
Cons
  • Packing: flimsy cellophane bag. Narrow and short handle for my palm.

well, the middle knife is so pleasant to look and feel, so far I can’t say anything for the piece of iron - I didn’t go out into the fields / went out with a noticeably sharp sharpness, the sharpening angle remained native, which, with scrap mixing, will allow a lot of rough work Has some pros: I liked the knife, even with such a crowbar on the pk it cuts a piece of paper . I haven’t checked the rest yet I checked it - I sharpened it a bit at home with diamonds and ground opinel, at this angle…
