Easy setup, nice UI but weak signal

Bought these for my outdoor garden. I tried to give them a chance, I returned 1 and exchanged it for another. Tried different cables but the signal was just really weak. No walls, just open space, and even at 20 feet it will be weak.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Reliable

Be careful with recovery

I bought two devices. Obviously there is no recovery process for them. The POE adapter would not turn on and when I looked at the pins they were corroded. If they can't verify basic things like turning on the power, it seems pretty obvious that nothing else is being done.

  • Decent performance

The smell of burning, then death.

The device worked fine for a few minutes and then died. I set up the network indoors for testing, it was not used outdoors. It worked fine for a few minutes and was accepted on the controller. A few minutes later, there was a burning smell and the device was very hot. Never connected again. Revine replaced the apparatus (2 stars).

Didn't even have to take it outside!

Bought to extend my home wifi down the hill to my shop and around the yard. I hooked it up to the cables in my office for testing before running the cables outside to the antenna stand. to charge and my signal was never interrupted. Hang out and do business in places WiFi never reached before. I can just stick it on the wall in my office and make an altar out of it. Very happy

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Good Strong Signal - Networking Products

Overall the product works quite well. The Wi-Fi signal has a very long range compared to the cheap, small, basic plug-ins you can buy. The setup software really lacks usability when trying to set it up, but I had no problems once the installation was complete. My only problem is that my internet signal on the router is 200Mbps and even though it's a wired connection I only get 100Mbps from the access point.

Pros
  • Best in their Niche
Cons
  • Stock Availability

Gets very hot and doesn't get a good 5Ghz signal at 10ft outdoors

The device received was hardware version 1. It might make a difference, who knows? just turn it on and off in our settings. You can unplug the PoE cable or plug in PoE and install an outdoor plug somewhere, but that's a hassle. We found it very hot and uncomfortable leaving it outside 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 2.4 performance was good - not great, but good despite our 1 gigabit FIO uplink. But 5GHz wasn't even negotiated at 10ft line of sight, despite the various settings suggested in the…
