I ended up putting the old factory back in (it doesn't have a groove for the O-ring), it seals well. Although the chrome was decent

The mating surface on the case has a groove for the o-ring. I'm not sure if it's meant to be used with just the o-ring and no gasket. The cardboard spacer that came with the kit didn't even seal for a week, I even used a lightweight RTV on both sides. I ended up putting the old factory back in (it doesn't have a groove for the O-ring), it seals well. Although the chrome was decent.

This is a water neck with an o-ring fitted with a thin .

This is a water fitting O-ring with a thin seal. The same I took off my small block which was leaking. sent back. A misleading description in my opinion.
