Transcend JetFlash TS64GJF780 💾 Flash Drive: Enhanced Storage and Speed Review

After *many* USB3 flash drives failed, I got tired and researched their specs. After learning the difference between TLC, MLC and SLC, I chose these Transcend drives which are MLC. I needed a high performance, high speed drive for a dash cam. When trying to reformat it to make it work with my computer, I accidentally disabled the drive. I contacted Transcend customer service and they immediately tried to fix it. It didn't work so they asked me to send it to them. They not only repaired the drive but also reformatted it to work in my computer. That's customer service!

I tried copying files to this drive as soon as I got it. The copy process started and failed in less than a minute and now the drive is not recognized. I had to paste it again to get it recognized and then the copy failed again in less than a minute. I have some technical and troubleshooting skills, but this flash drive was unreliable and bad from the start. I'm disappointed because I really wanted a flash drive with such features.

I also bought the smaller version (16GB) and love both. I used to buy SanDisk flash drives but was disappointed that their file management software made identifying files unnecessarily (IMO) so cryptic. Transcend's speed is incredible whether it's used on a 2.0 or 3.0 port, and the blue light is a bonus. I recommend this product to all my colleagues and friends, which is very unusual for me when it comes to editorial content. Long term reliability? It's too early to comment, but at first…
