The dealership charged $700 to change the transmission fluid in my RV to the Sprinter chassis. I bought this probe and did the job myself which saved me $$$. Works perfectly!

This is almost a perfect tool for checking the transmission oil level in my E430. The rigid tip is too long and is stuck in the bottom of the transfer tube. I do not use it.

Will not work on some 2004 Mercedes Make sure you have a transmission with dipstick tube and filler cap before purchasing. Mine didn't have a dipstick tube at all, so I couldn't use that item.

This item works as it is designed and you can use it as an oil dipstick if you mark it when you are sure the oil level is correct. preferably immediately after the change, the item looks like it will last as many times as you use it

You can read instructions telling you to check the transmission when it's cold, but the car has to be running! We almost installed a new transmission in an old Sprinter that only needed transmission oil! Glory to the honest mechanic!

Beats the gears in the garage. It was a few inches too long for my Mercedes S500 to go all the way in, but still on the ground and shows the oil level accurately. I didn't use the little red stop pins because I want to test my own fluid and they get in the way. I had to buy a cheaper one without them to save money.
