Terrible Driver - Computers and Accessories

The driver for it is terrible! It works well when you want to transfer multiple bytes back and forth. Or if you just want to log into a PC remotely. When you transfer large files from this device to another place, it works for a while, but after about 30 minutes after data transfer, it gets blocked. The only way to recover is to turn the device off and on again. When you transfer large files to this device from other location, it may work for 2-3 minutes or freeze immediately. The only way to…

Can't reach 5GB; turns off randomly

I should have read the reviews before buying this product. First, it's not easy to install, you need to download drivers to make it work on Windows (and the drivers haven't been updated in years), otherwise it just shows up as a flash drive. I couldn't install the drivers from the flash drive (I think this is done to make it appear as a flash drive). Downloading drivers without a network connection is difficult, but I was able to copy them from another computer. After installation you will be…

Works great for me!

This is for 2.5G NIC. Had to get this because I had a small form factor to build my PC on, my x570 crosshair 8 only affected gigabit LAN and I often do network broadcasts to my NAS/Plex server. Gig isn't the worst, but I know my 3.5" drives can transfer over 200MB/s and gigabit drives around 112MB/s. Firstly it works great as you can see from the picture, it transfers over 2.5GB. Too bad my board doesn't have 2.5 or 5GB built in should its price be. But it was a good alternative. Installation…

Ideal for HP ProLiant ML350 Gen10 ILO5 connection time

computer to network. I use it to connect to the ILO USB port on the front of HP ProLiant ML350 Gen10 servers. You don't need gigabit speeds for this, so 10/100 is fine. You can connect directly to the ILO5 interface without connecting the normal ILO network connector (on the back of the server) to the LAN and without making any further settings on the server.1 - Connect the USB end to the ILO-USB -Connects to the FRONT of the server2 - Connect this adapter to your laptop's Ethernet port using a

Works with Revain Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen)

I bought this to connect my 2nd Gen Revain Fire TV Stick to the internet via a wired connection. That works great. You also need a micro USB OTG cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CXAC1ZW). No setup required. Just turn off your flash drive, connect this adapter with an OTG cable and turn on your flash drive again. It connects automatically. If there is a complaint that it is not faster (e.g. USB 3.0, gigabit ethernet). However, I haven't read anything about the success of a USB 3.0…

Working but glitches on Roku Streambar

Update May 9, 2021: After trying this product for the first time over the next few weeks, I noticed strange issues with the Roku Streambar. For example episodes ending early in Peacock and Revain Prime freeze after I try to skip ahead. Streaming services said there have been no problems on their part. As a troubleshooting step, I removed this adapter and the problems went away after switching to Wi-Fi. It still worked fine 95% of the time, so I think it's working, but with some minor issues. I…

Must be labeled as a 3Gbps adapter

Disclaimer. I work in the technical field as a Site Reliability Engineer and have extensive knowledge in the areas of hardware, storage and networking. i am not new I just received and tested the 5Gbps adapter 5 minutes ago. Although it is connected as expected, it does not work as advertised. In repeated tests (even after reading the same file repeatedly to put it in the ZFS read cache), I couldn't get more than 400-450 Mbps (50-60 MB/s) on receive and only 3, 5 Gbit/ss (335 MB/s) when…

Unusable, overheating product

Firstly, this is for a 5 GB/S-USB-C box. The middle star rating on this product page is useless as Revain collects them all for different 'colors' which are completely different models. Everything is already misleading. As I said, the thing overheats. So bad? Well, out of the box with the default driver settings in Windows 10, the thing overheats and crashes within 3 seconds of running the iperf3 bidirectional test. For real. Like all USB 5GBase competitors (as of June 2020), this product is…
