Works great with the Bulldog connector

I was concerned if it would work properly with the Bulldog connector but it works great. The quality of this lock seems very good and I think it will last a long time.

Pros
  • price
Cons
  • disappears

Terrific! This lock just doesn't spare thieves.

Great! I still have my 4500 GVW 10ft cargo trailer. I had a different lock. I heard a noise and went to check. Someone bent the shaft trying to remove the cheap lock and they nearly succeeded. Swapped it for this one and no more problems.

Pros
  • One-year trial
Cons
  • Useless features

Neat and simple clutch lock

Works exactly as promised. The lock barrel is weaker than expected on the 1/4" shank, but won't come loose. The dust cover will probably get lost, but it does its job now. The key opens the lock easily. How strong the be lock is will tell we will know in a few months that our previous low-budget lock has lasted 21 years without any problems, but could not close the gap with the new trailer hitch.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Exterior

Meets my requirements exactly!

I use this on an ATV/UTV 6.5x12 Diamond C Utility Trailer It has an 'other' hitch mount which this particular 2.5" lock works very well with. It's stainless steel. - The only problem with this or any other locking mechanism is that it can be hacked! Where there is a will, there's a way. I block everything I have at least twice just hoping to at least slow someone down. I would buy again!

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive

Not suitable for most boat trailers!

Not suitable for boat trailers where the locking pin runs near the bottom of the hitch where the flange is located. The lock is too thick at the ends to remove. Yes you can try bending the hitch flange or twisting the lock but I prefer not to modify my trailer in this way. I've also tried three friends' boat trailers that use wide span locks and they didn't work either. Bad design by Trimax in this case. Please make the ends thinner!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

This does not fit the usual UFP connection.

This will not fit the UFP connector commonly used on many boat trailers (especially wakeboard/ski boat trailers with impulse brakes). Although the shaft is the "correct" length, the ends are too large and not tapered so they don't fit snugly against the side of the coupling. I think the CT Johnson DEADBOLT Surge Brake Coupler Lock (2-1/2" span) #RC4 is the way to go, but I'm waiting for it to arrive. Unfortunately I have to pay for return shipping to Revain. The DEADBOLT lock fits neither.Made…

Heavy duty well made caravan locking mechanism

Could have used a slightly smaller width as the hitch ball lock on our caravan is only 3/4" thick so it rattles Also it's a fantastic unobtrusive option to protect your trailer when it is being coupled or uncoupled from your vehicle. We were most concerned about the lock when unhooking the trailer from the car at campgrounds and parks, and it appears to be a thick gauge with no drilling (probably). It's possible someone could get through there with a saw blade, but I doubt the bolt cutters can…

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • I'll write back later
