Very disappointing. The wax took forever to heat up and never fully heated up. It was hard to get it right. Half of the wax did not melt at all or only slightly and formed a new ball of wax. I had to light the tea candle 3 times before I gave up. I ended up just using a chocolate melting pot I bought at Walmart.

I have hand sealed all of our Christmas cards with wax seals for a personal touch. I hand melted the wax for each card first until I found this awesome melter that could keep a decent amount of wax at the perfect temperature for hours (with the occasional stirring and adding a few more bits of wax, of course). It's not something I use for a postcard or two, but it's been a lifesaver on vacation postcards.

I used this in my class as a fancy way of sending mail between offices. I've also gotten students to seal invitations from parents to school events or thank-you letters to businesses that donated or allowed us to visit. I like not to hold the wax stick and leave it melted while I prep other envelopes. It is easy to clean if you wipe it while it is still warm.

I made about 300 wax seals with this for my wedding. It was easy to use and definitely speeded up the whole project. However. Wax overheats very easily to the point where it is difficult to get perfect seals. And you can pour it so that the wax gets a chilled film on top, and the bottom boils. which was strange. Overall it was great, although it took some tweaking to get used to.
