Poor spot welds

Easy to use and works well. The gear can have more teeth per inch for more precise clicking and adjustment. However, this is not the main problem. The main problem is that after installing several boards, the weld on the handle began to crack. See photos below. Please do not buy, note you only have a 30 day return window. We are now unable to return this faulty item. We will never buy anything from Revain again.

Quickly collapsed on tools and equipment

Looks like a great jack. In the beginning it worked quite well. He tends to bounce on the board if you apply too much pressure. I've only used it a few times when it broke. When I picked it up to take it to another location, it opened fully. It will not return to its original position when you turn the cotter pin on the gear it should return to its original position. The only solution to this was to constantly adapt. The spring jumped out of position and didn't stay in place. Looking for a…

Worth Every Penny: Jacks

For the professional floor installer this product is a must have when using an inverted pry bar and hitting it with a plastic mallet to rebound etc. Gone are the days. I just used it to install 491m². 3/4 ft. "Red Oad Grade #2" hardwood, meaning the wood is not perfect. This tool was fantastic on the final board nailing the top and nailing the end boards. , Easy to use, quick and durable, actually Make sure you have a plank of wood wedged in the wall or you may poke a hole in the drywall.

Does the job but needs some work

Unlocking the gearbox is not very easy but it stays in place. was reluctant to install it for the floor as decent brands cost around $160-$200. If I did that for a living I would buy a really better one. Luckily I had a strand of cork tape and ran off the bottom and the end of the gear shaft to protect the bottom - either that or the felt. will definitely work. A tool for a rough finish, wet made, obviously cheap metal, but for a one-off installation, typical of DIY jobs, it'll do - do you…

Good for car lifts, elevators and jacks in a pinch

It's not a professional tool but it costs A LOT more. Works decently for putting the last pair of boards against the wall. It won't be as firm as your nail hammer, but it's good enough. As others have pointed out, it needs something underneath to keep it from scratching the floor. The bubble wrap that was sent worked fine for me, I used temporary (rubber) glue to stick it to the bottom. The unlocking mechanism didn't seem complicated to me. Play with the tool for a while before using it. Once…

Needs felt on the bottom to avoid scratching the floor but works great.

This made it a lot easier to fit my 9" wood planks to the walls. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is that you need to stick felt pads on the bottom to avoid scratching the floor, and the steps for each notch can be shorter for easier to use. Sometimes I found that I had to be between the notches on the cog when pushing down, otherwise the pressure would be too much. I compensated by pushing but not engaging the next gear while securing the bottom. I love that after sewing you just push the…

JUMPING FROM A SEAT in garage and shop

I have tried using this as directed but the bevel on the claw seems to be sharpened at the wrong angle so with enough pressure it will spring up and release the board you want to reject. It can be done, but someone has to stand by it. The next problem seems to be how close your nailer can get to the tool. Perhaps the handle of the nailer I use (Dewalt) is unusually large, but I don't think so. I don't know if the more expensive "Pro" works better, but this one doesn't work as advertised. I'd…

Definitely a good quality tool

This thing saved a life. I bought it used from the seller but it came in near perfect condition. The reason I bought it was to renovate a bamboo floating floor that our company installed a year ago. The general contractor did not follow instructions and screwed a furnace vent through the bottom of the island. This caused the bottom to become detached on one side of the island (the floating bottom must remain buoyant and able to move through contraction and expansion, otherwise separation or…

Excellent product excellent customer service

I have used this many times in my 1600sqm hardwood floor project. feet in my house. It's very comfortable once I start leaning against the wall. I don't understand how some boards can be made without this available tool. I put some masking tape on the underside to soften the edges and finish to avoid scratching the panel surfaces. Update: The small wire spring broke after 2 years of use - customer service has been great - they provide replacements for free and quickly. I really appreciate the…
