Old School Instrumentation

I selected this odd guy because it is one of the few signal generators that enables a modulated output. This is perfect for upgrading vintage radios. The shipping carton had a bunch of Chinese labeling on it, which helped set expectations. It is, in fact, exactly what I was looking for. It is fairly heavy, as it is housed in a sturdy metal case. A big downside is frequency accuracy, as it was way off from the dial numbers. An external frequency counter would be a good mate. Alternates are also…

Low cost and works great.

The only complaint is they did not address putting knobs 🎛 for RF level, Modulation Level and Modulation Frequency. The unit was a birthday give by my wife I add knobs for the RF level, Modulation Level and Modulation Frequency by taking out the standoff the bracket. The first photo shows the standoff in place. Next is the standoff removed. Last photo is knobs in stall ready to work. I purchase knobs from Ebay

Not good enough for professional work

I agree with another reviewer who said you need to use a frequency counter along with this generator. The dial settings are not as accurate as a 50 year old tube type generator to which I have access. I would add you also need an attenuator, and an RF microvolt meter to go along with it. There is no fine frequency adjust, and working the dial to get an exact frequency is between difficult and impossible.
