This base layer looks too thin to keep you warm. However, it keeps the upper body warm. Previous base layers I've bought were thicker and offered enough warmth or warmth to wear without a jacket. I only wore this thermal underwear with a jacket over it and went out at about 37 degrees. It's also thin enough to be a training top as it's breathable enough to make you sweat.
