They are actually the SIZE they say! However, it is odd that my almost 13 year old daughter wears a size 16. She is of average height and weight. They're ribbed and weighted and I think they'll be great as fall and winter approaches. My daughter loves them!

Great fit and wear. Doesn't stretch or pull. Lots of stretch for a nice, smooth fit. Probably not for your child if they are very leggy and very skinny otherwise perfect for my pretty average 10 year old. Bought them in multiple sizes and at a great price if you need a pair of spare pants for the season.

I only give this pair a bad rating. We have ordered 4 more of these pants and they all fit perfectly. 2 pairs in size 10 last year and 2 pairs in size 12 this year. The size 12 we have been ordering for the past few months is quite comfortable for my daughter's height. However, the latest denim pair is too narrow at the bottom. Ok I don't wear them, my three daughters drive them. This is an excellent product in terms of shape, finish and overall design of the product. The synthetic in the leg panels holds up very well and retains its tack even after washing. Ideal for trail, jumping and any training. The black looks great, as did our last pair of jeans. Good value for money but very slim calf fit. Our 6 year old daughter is of average/slim build and slightly above average height with muscular legs and buttocks due to posting. Size 10 is big in the waist and buttocks and there is room to grow as expected, unfortunately the calves are already quite tight. She was frustrated trying to put them on.
