fine for gentle dogs?

They are nice toys, and are probably just fine for gentle or very old dogs. Purchased for a six year old, 60 lb. lab and a 10 year old, 35 lb. border collie (one each) to substitute for stuffed chew toys. Our dogs are not monsters; neither is teething, and we don't play tug of war with our dogs. Our expectation was that these would far outlast plush toys that lasted for a few weeks before they were pulling the stuffing out, and tennis balls that lasted for a few days. The lab had his apart…

Pros
  • Provides a great way for dogs to release stress and anxiety
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may not hold up to serious fetch and retrieve play

Durable, and light.

Love this toy! Wanted to try this version without the stuffing, as our GSD has a habit of mouthing her toys and pulling the stuffing out. She loves this, the squeakers are sturdy, and no stuffing to tempt her. She carries it around all the time and loves to play with it. So far, no issues, it’s in great shape. And I don’t feel like I have to worry about throwing it in the house, it’s light enough to not damage anything it hits. Definitely recommend this toy!

Pros
  • Environmentally friendly and can be recycled
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may not be safe for puppies that are still teething

Tuff toys used to be Tough

We have bought these for awhile now, not sure if it is the squeakers as our stuffy ones do not have squeakers. Hope they have not all turned like this.

Pros
  • Provides a great way for your dog to bond with their owner
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may attract unwanted attention from other dogs

Lasted about a month with a 60 pound, Husky, chewer.

Lasted about a month with a dog who's a constant chewer. She worried the squeakers out after about the first week and then, continued to work at the toy til there were only a few pieces left and I finally threw it out. The way she goes after toys, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Pros
  • January 8, 2014
Cons
  • My dog tore into it after 10 minutes of play. Completely fell apart. Was hoping it wouldn’t

Strong Toys! best in my review

My daughters dog Revy loves the Tuffy toys! He turned 1yr old and ended up in Vet ER, but is fine now and loving his new toys!

Pros
  • Provides a great way for your dog to unwind and relax
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy is not versatile enough for different types of play

Not tuff enough for my dog

I live this toy judt not for chewers, my little pitty had it chewed up and squeakers out of it in one night, not tuff enough for chewers

Pros
  • No stuffing means no mess and less risk of your dog ingesting anything harmful
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy can be easily chewed up by some dogs

Lasted only 2.5 months

My corgi puppy loved the toy, but it lasted only 2.5 months. He first started playing with it when he was barely 4 months old with few teeth and yet he managed to rip it apart in the past month. We found him chewing on one of the squeaky plastic insert today.

Pros
  • "World’s Tuffest Soft Dog Toy"™ on the market, with up to 4 layers of fabric!
Cons
  • Unfortunately, it lasted one day before the dogs tore into it.

Strong, but not strong enough for my puppy

I liked there was no stuffing, since I bought it for my lab puppy, a serious chewer! However, he did chew through the binding and remover 2 squeakers. (There may not be a toy strong enough for this dog!)

Pros
  • T-NS-U-R-RP
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy does not float in water

I got this for my doggy niece and nephew for .

I got this for my doggy niece and nephew for Christmas. They are both chewers and the toys I got them last Christmas lasted all about 30 seconds! They got all the sruffings out and the squeakers, too. So this year I searched high and low on Revain for toys that would last them a little bit longer. I decided to buy this after reading the many reviews. They still play with this toy and the seams are holding up since Christmas! I am giving it 4 stars because most of the squeakers no longer squeak…

Pros
  • Perfect for dogs of all sizes and breeds
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may not be as soft as other plush dog toys

Great dog toy for big dogs

These are awesome. Not indestructible but they last quite a while. We have three Holden retrievers that give them a constant workout. Like that there is no filler. Eventually they chew home and get squeaker out ( we cut out first to extend okay time). I think we get a good 6 mos use maybe more.

Pros
  • Floats in water and machine washable (air dry)
Cons
  • Much thinner than the previous ones we ordered. No stuffing.

Not tough at all good for me

This was supposed to be rated a 10 on the Tuff scale, but my bulldog/basset hound mix managed to get two of the four squeakers out in under an hour, and got the other two out the following day. I've had other Tuffy products that were lower-rated on the toughness scale that lasted much longer. I'll probably still buy a stuffed toy occasionally, but the non-stuffed toy seems too easy for my 35-pound dog to rip apart. This product might be okay for dogs who take less joy in destroying things than…

Pros
  • Can provide comfort and security for anxious dogs
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may not be stimulating enough for some dogs

Ripped in 5 minutes

I had heard great things about this toy but was quickly disappointed when my dog ripped a hole in it in less than 5 minutes.

Pros
  • Intended for interactive play and NOT for chewing
Cons
  • Lasted about a week until my dog was able to pull the squeakers out.

With handles on each end we thought we'd be able to get more than 15 minutes of play time out of the toy before it ripped. Waste of money. If I could rate less than 1 star, I would, but leaving them blank would seem like we weren't offering a rating.

Pros
  • Can be hung up for solo play sessions
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may not provide enough mental stimulation for some dogs

Not Tuff enough - my new review

I have a 8 month old Great Pyrenees pup and he ripped a hole and tore a squeaker out within 5 minutes of getting this toy. I thought this ring would last a lot longer considering it has a Tuff rating of 10.

Pros
  • Soft enough for snuggling, yet tough enough for play
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy does not have a long lifespan

Dogs love this chew toy!

Three generations of Tuffy, about 6 months apart. I have two dogs that love to chew and play tug-of-war and Tuffy keeps them busy! They play with the older versions just as much as the new one. They even snuggle up with their Tuffy.

Pros
  • Can help your dog develop better focus and coordination
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may not be as engaging as other dog toys

Tougher than my pit.

My pit shreds most squeaky toys in about 15-30 minutes. This is the only only she has not made hardly a mark on in two months. The squeakers all still work. She like to great me with it in her mouth when I come home. So far this is the toughest toy I have found that has squeakers in it.

Pros
  • Perfect for dogs with separation anxiety or dogs who are home alone during the day
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy is not hypoallergenic

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Happy dogs, not quite so happy mom

The dogs love this, but only 4 days and it is a shell with all but one of 4 squeakers torn out. Power chewers will shred this in no time. This shouldn't be marked a 10 tuff rating.

Pros
  • Can be used as a tool for positive reinforcement training
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may not be suitable for dogs that are not trained to play nicely

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not so tough. for my opinion

Well I was under the impression that this was a tough ,durable toy. My blue heeler got one of the squeakers out in about 20 minutes. It's still a fun thing for her to carry around but did not make the cut.

Pros
  • Provides great exercise and mental stimulation for your furry friend
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may have a chemical smell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My dog loves it.: my feedback

It may well be the 'Worlds Toughest Dog Toy', but the squeakers are as cheap as any other dog toy. All were dead after the first hour of use - but the toy itself is still holding up after months of rough use.

Pros
  • Can be used to teach dogs new commands and tricks
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy may not be appropriate for larger dogs

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Didn’t last very long.

My 6 month old puppy really enjoyed playing with this and ate through it within the first day she had it. I have purchased many Tuffy products and they have performed well with the exception of this one. Can not recommend this item to other dog owners. Very disappointed with the poor longevity of the toy.

Pros
  • Can help with teething and dental health
Cons
  • The TUFFY toy is not suitable for dogs that enjoy destroying toys
