Good for 200 feet

I have a wired wifi hotspot about 200 feet from my house. This antenna works well with the alfa 36nhr adapter. But this yagi is not as good as tp-link's 24dbi parabolic antenna. This yagi cannot receive hotel wifi at 700ft, but the 24dbi dish works fine. At both distances, the speed is only good for one device. I have a speed of 1-4 MB. This yagi seems to work better than the alfa 19dbi panel antenna. The braid is too short. Also, the bracket cannot adjust the angle to point down or up.

Great product works as advertised.

Great product works as advertised. I found excellent reception when I used a heavier gauge copper wire to connect this antenna to the wireless transmitter I was using. I've actually used 14 gauge copper wire and found I get better reception. Now, if you use the standard BNC cable that comes with the wireless access point, you will get poor reception, and this is not the antenna's fault, but the thin BNC coax cable that carries from the wireless access point to the antenna . not thick enough to…

Very good Yagi antenna

Many years ago I bought a Tupavco 15dbi Yagi Wi-Fi antenna which was showing good results so I recently bought their 17dbi Yagi. This is about 1 and 2/3 stronger than 15dbi, better pulling signals. With 15dbi yagi I had trouble connecting to the nearest hotspot signal due to obstacles like a building in the way, but 17dbi boosts the signal enough that it can easily connect to the hotspot and with it I get good internet and decent ones Download speeds. Plug it into a good WiFi adapter (I use…

Pros
  • Expensive but worth it
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

So far this has worked very well. I installed it on the side of my garage about 600 feet over a couple of walls from my wireless access point, and it allows for 15Mbps downloads. That's not bad considering the distance and traversing steel walls. From the side of the building it looks ridiculously out of place but I live in the country so no worries. There is NO assembly stand included. For the price I would have thought it would come with a pole as well as a cable that extends over 6 inches…

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Drill pack

As another reviewer pointed out, don't plug in your hardware without testing everything. I just made some RG58 cables. I went to connect this garbage antenna. It felt strange that it was closed. Throw away the multimeter. The dipoles are closed to each other. I would roast my gear. Totally crazy. There were other things. I planned my night around this to set up security cameras some distance away. Now I need to do the calculations and create my own active element, but I'm too tired for the…

Great performance and value with a catch or two.

You won't find a better performing antenna in this price range, but if you want to use it, you have to pay attention to details. For example, you will need a high-quality, low-loss, high-gain RP-SMA (female center pin) plug to N-type plug adapter (not included) if you intend to connect it to a Wi-Fi adapter or router. I personally had to order two adapters before I got the right one. I also ordered a low-loss extension cord so it can be placed in the optimal spot. So the price for a proper…
