Very effective product for grinding discs and discs

This is a very effective tool that has done an excellent job on stubborn honeysuckle stumps. The only reason I gave it 3 stars just for ease of use is that it can tend to grab and tug at you, so you really have to get used to it. Even if you use a cheap coffee grinder, keep it simple. This is a very aggressive tool.

You must be experienced and strong to use it. Still solid construction.

This didn't work for me on a hardwood log (pear) where I wanted to carve a bench. I didn't have enough arm strength to do it smoothly (pretty strong woman). I used a DeWalt coffee grinder. See photos. It worked well to remove the bark, albeit quickly, but I couldn't get a smooth finish. (Walnut). My skills are above average for a hobby carpenter, but far below those of a professional.

  • This is amazing

too much bite - abrasives and finishes

Put it on my grinder. I tried using it on a piece of wood to test it. He grabs the tree so bad, so fast. So difficult to use. I'm by no means a little guy, but this thing kicked my ass. And to make matters worse, it was so tight on my grinder that trying to remove it I broke the mechanism locking the wheel to use the wrench. I couldn't untie the collar. And with so much force, the damn thing broke. Yes. So can I recommend that? No way.

Will not work with any of my angle grinders

Update: Firstly it looks well made and is exactly the type of tool I really need but the lock nut on my Dewalt and Makita 4-1/2 angle grinder "Machines are too big to fit the disc notch. Notch is about 1/8 inch smaller. Now I have to decide if I want to buy another coffee grinder or find another disc. Very frustrating. I just got that one Tried a neighbor's new Porter Cable Grinder and the lock isn't too big either.I had to go back.

Not effective. Avoid.

So I had to turn a small, freshly cut 12 inch diameter maple stump 1 or 2 inches so it could be turfed. Box, the tool is solid and sturdy and seemingly perfect for the job. And that was about two minutes. The blades quickly lost their ability to cut or shave and simply began burning the wood. Also, the design of the tool is such that the standard lug nuts on my Milwaukee angle grinder will not fit into the notch on the front of the tool. This can be effective on softwoods, but for each wood of…

What in the vast world of useless junk is this thing supposed to be?

Are you looking for a good way to lose your finger? Are you always looking for another useless and ridiculously dangerous "tool" for your shop? You should still stay away from this gem though. The teeth are too high: they cut through the wood as long as you don't get too close. It's best to use a rock or an old piece of concrete to shape your piece: it's just as effective and won't fly out of hand because you got too close to what you're trying to carve. You better drag your character behind…

Tips for Using Abrasives and Paints Safely

I bought this saw blade mainly for planing small logs before milling. I also plan to try power carving. As others have noted, the notch in the disc (38mm) is too small to fit a nut on most 4½" angle grinders with a 5/8" spindle. I knew this beforehand, so I bought a non-original nut to fit the recess. One star off for custom sizes. The rest of the drive works fine. I've used it on maple and alder. It moves through wood and bark in a predictable manner. I've mostly used it on clean, straight…
