Fit and finish are problematic. You need to clean up the top dovetail with a file. The face is large and easy to read even with my poor eyesight. The hand moves freely, or at least freely enough for an amateur like me. And it's easy to zero. I would rate it a 4 or 5 if the dovetail wasn't mistaken. I know it's "cheap" for a test indicator, but it's still expensive enough to justify testing things like this before packaging.

Türlen Precision TEST DIGITAL INDICATOR fits what it is. It's by no means the best gauge, but it's still pretty good for what it is. The 2 dovetail pins included are beautifully finished and fit perfectly. The stylus is easy enough to move, but stiff enough that the blank won't do it for you. The clamping tool is good. What it didn't have was a sheet of anti-rust paper, so I added that myself. I don't expect it to rust, but better safe than sorry. My only real complaint is that I wish it showed

So far I've opened this up, played around with it a bit and gotten the overall impression. I don't have the hardware I'm going to use it on yet, so I can't comment on how well it works for this purpose.
