DEFINITELY NO SNAKE PROTECTION

23g needle went through them like clockwork. Maybe 0.5 pounds. I ran the same test on a cheap $45 pair; the needle is bent and not punctured. Don't trust them with your legs. We had one real bite and two misses in the NGA last summer.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Not sure

Worth the extra cost

Much better than other companies' versions. They're light, flexible, and relatively comfortable compared to hard plastic versions. This means you're more likely to wear them. I liked them so much that I bought a second pair for a co-worker so we could both be protected while we worked in some remote areas in some woodland rattlesnake breeding grounds.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Lightweight: Camping

. These are very light and durable snake alligators. I've used them on at least 5 hunts. Like all snake alligators, they are warm. In the photos I used a small drawstring to hold them on the boots. Don't do like me, the bungee started staining the turtle's skin. I switched to a full leather strap. Works perfectly. I hunt mountain deer and spend about 8 hours with them in the field. So far they are very strong. I can't say much about snake protection yet and I hope I never have to test themโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Not Bad, But...

Incorrect size guide

My husband bought these for quail hunting in South Texas. He followed the online instructions to measure the foot for the correct fit and ordered the normal size. Upon receipt, however, they were nowhere near large enough to fit on his lower leg. Almost an inch too small and impossible to close. The guide tells you to measure your calf circumference 16 inches above the bottom of the gaiter, but for most people that part of the leg is smaller than the calf itself, so it fits the top but doesn'tโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Quality

Pleasant Confidence

Comfortable to the touch. It will be nice to have peace of mind. I had the misfortune of being killed by a copper head over the ankle 10 years ago. This is not fun. Lightning works fine for me. Take your time and be sure to line it up. If this becomes a problem I'll put in a heavier zip. So far so good, they're light and feel comfortable. I like her. (Update) November 4, 2020 Still valid! I haven't tried snakes yet, but I'm still impressed. Built with a conscience. ๐Ÿ‘ Proven durability underโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Slightly warm but light, with good protection.

I purchased a pair of TurtleSkin SnakeArmor leg guards after encountering three rattlesnakes in an hour while walking in the Sonoran Desert. I've seen many snakes in the past, but these snake encounters have taken place on groomed trails or in open water. Recent hikes have been through grass and bushes where snakes are harder to see. My height is about 5 feet 10 inches. Normal size fits me as the gaiters hit just below the knee. I have used them to attach the front grommets to the gaiter loopsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Top Ratings for Support and Durability from Testers
Cons
  • Useless Features
